    ORDERING ONLINE

I don’t want to provide my credit card details online, what are my other options?
If you don’t feel comfortable providing your credit card details over the internet we also accept payment over the phone or we can arrange for EFT.

      How is postage calculated?

We usually charge the standard Australia Post rates which are based on parcel weight and destination/postcode.

However, with standard Australia Post we are unable to track the parcel and no insurance is provided should the item not reach you.

Registered Post is usually an extra $2.95 and enables you to track the parcel with insurance up to $200

    IN-STORE

Do you do Cake Tin Hire?
Yes we do.  We usually do either overnight or 3 day/weekend hire but you can negotiate this with us.

Do you run cake decorating classes?
Yes we do, and all take place at our shop at 84 Warrigal Road, Oakleigh. For more information please go here or give us a call on 9563 3255.

Can I place an order over the phone and pick it up in store?
Yes, we’re more than happy to put things aside for you. Also there is much more stock in-store than there is online.

    PRODUCTS
Do you still sell Gluten Free Beer?
Yes! We sell both the Schnitzer Brau Premium (Standard) and the Schnitzer Brau Citrus (Lemon flavoured); because of licensing restrictions we cannot sell the beer via the website or through the store at 83 Warrigal Road Oakleigh, however, you can purchase it from our premises around the corner at 84 Carlisle Crescent.

Do you sell other Gluten Free Products?
Yes, we sell a range of pasta, crackers and bread that are gluten free. Blackwood Lane Fruit Mince and Blackwood Lane Marzipan are also Gluten Free.

      Is your Marzipan gluten free?
Yes, we use tapioca starch in our Marzipan, it does not contain any wheat.

Are your Rainbow Choc Chips dairy free?
They definitely are, that’s why they taste so good.

    YOU CAN BAKE IT

Are you a You Can Bake It franchise?
Technically, we are not a You Can Bake It franchise but we do stock a range of the You Can Bake It Bread Mixes, and are the only company left in Victoria that stocks the range.

What are the benefits of the You Can Bake It bread mixes?
The big draw with the Bake It range is that it is are preservative free! We have a large range available, they’re Australian made, they’re easy as to bake especially if you have a bread machine and they taste pretty good too.

Can I order online/over the phone and pick up in store?
Yes, and this is recommended as postage charges can get expensive when ordering a large quantities of the bread mixes.

If I request a specific bread mix can you get it in for me?
Yes we can, however, the range available has been reduced so some of your old favourites may no longer be available. Feel free to give us a ring and we’ll see what we can do.  Also, the Bread Mixes are made fresh, interstate so it can sometimes take a while.

Can I change my Bake It order after I’ve submitted it?
Yes, as long as it hasn’t been packed for postage and paid for we’re happy to alter your order – we can’t guarantee we’ll have the stock though.

My loaf isn’t working out properly, what’s wrong?
Sometimes too much or too little water is the main problem. If it’s the loaf looks sunken in the middle, the problem could be too much water; try reducing water by 10ml until you get your desired loaf. Also, if the yeast you’re using isn’t looked after properly that will also obviously effect the bread.  We recommend you measure all ingredients.

    SILVERWOOD BAKEWARE

What is Silverwood Heat Spread Technology?

Silverwood Bakeware is made out of Alsil a high quality alloy, which is superior standard steel bakeware due to its even heat distribution properties. Basically it means that it’s really good for both baking and freezing.

What are Silverwood’s non-stick properties like?
Frequent use will actually enhance the release properties of the bakeware, as a ‘Patina’ is formed on the anodized surface. Strong detergents and over-zealous cleaning may remove the patina, however but will build up again with regular use.

What should I use to grease Silverwood Bakeware?
Natural Fats like butter and lard are best, rather than say margarine. Ground Nut Oil is thought to work best but is of course not ideal for those with allergies. Avoid Olive Oil or any artificial/chemical non-stick products.

What’s the best way to clean Silverwood Bakeware?

Washing with warm soapy water, and soaking the bakeware for a few minutes will usually do the trick. Any discolouration that may occur (from cooking with fats and oils) actually add to the non-stick properties of the bakeware. Avoid strong detergents.

DO NOT PUT SILVERWOOD BAKEWARE INTO THE DISHWASHER
